The Association of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) of USA, one of the world's best known industry associations in flexible packaging, is organizing its well known Converting School at New Delhi, India on the 6th and 7th of August 2008 concurrently with the India Packaging Show 2008. The school will be conducted in Hall No. 9 at the Pragati Maidan Complex, where IPS 2008 is being held.
This is the second edition of the Converting School to be held in India. The first one was held last year together with IPS 2007 and comprised of three parallel streams (Web Handling, Metallisation & Vacuum Deposition and Coating). This year the school will consist of only one seminar and training session on Web Handling and Converting which will be conducted by Dr. David Roisum, a leading international authority on the subject. It will focus on the essentials that are required to understand most web manufacturing and converting machines like coaters, laminators, printers, winders etc. The course explains the fundamental physics behind web machinery operation to provide guidance on how to troubleshoot real problems using a range of measurement and analysis tools. The course includes topics like web handling laws, roller rules, design and maintenance, tension controls, nip controls, temperature and moisture controls, guiding, spreading and wrinkling, slitting and an introduction to winding. Delegates can register on-line at the
