PackPlus 09 along with ippStar’s Careers4U event is over and so is the Monsoon Summit on ISO 12647. An interesting and busy month for us. PackPlus was a good show where we attended product launches, conferences, seminars and had a good conversation with Tarsus MD, Roger Pellow and Group MD, Douglas Emslie. They pointed out that India’s exhibition industry is a tenth the size of China’s primarily because of the infrastructure inconvenience. They explained that every visitor brings massive amount of revenue to the city which is an incentive to the government and should be utilised in improving the infrastructure, which in turn will lead to greater revenue generation for the government. The Careers event was quite a success with speakers like PV Indiresan, Rajendrakumar Anayath and Vijay Sood and was attended by printers including Paharpur, HBD Packaging and Kumar Printers. The Pa ckPlus show had a variety of exhibitors but the footfalls were not up to expectations on the first couple of days though they caught up in last two days. In our next PSA newsletter, we will bring to you more stories from the exhibition.

After the PackPlus exhibition, IppStar held its Monsoon Summit event in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. The Summit attracted quality printers who showed great interest in quality standardisation and ISO 12647. The fortitude, knowledge and experience of printers showed through as well their desire to be benchmarked and acknowledged for their excellence.
