Amit Kale is Assistant Vice President – Packaging, Automation & Quality control at Reliance Industries specializing on innovation, packaging and automation solutions. He is known for his innovations which include India Star Award 2010-11 and 2012-13 awarded by the Indian Institute of Packaging and World Star Award 2010-2011 awarded by the World Packaging Organisation. He advices organizations on designing packaging specifications and is an active speaker in industry conventions and conferences as well as in colleges and institutes.

Arun HS is business development manager – software, at Esko and has overall experience of 19 years in packaging prepress, automation, web approval systems and integration projects as a solution architect. Arun joined Esko in 2004 as application engineer and was responsible for installation, training and technical support for Esko’s customers in South Asia, South East Asia and South Korea. He has carried out various levels of implementation for many large packaging converters, pre-media houses and at CPG companies in India and abroad. He specialises in prepress solutions for offset, flexography and gravure printing as well as design and development of workflow automation.

Appadurai A, Country Manager – Indigo & Inkjet Solutions, Hewlett-Packard India, leads the digital press initiative in India and Sri Lanka. He is responsible for end to end GTM activities as well as the strategic planning and execution of sales growth and business excellence initiatives for HP Indigo and InkJet presses. One of Appadurai’s key achievements in his current role was to grow the HP Indigo business in India and Sri Lanka into a mature, profitable and fast-growing business..

Cheryl Harrison, Marketing Director, PopPack LLC and Chairman, Vivia Foundation. She directs creative strategy, branding and marketing communications to meet strategic goals for PopPack’s diverse market application in food, consumer goods, healthcare, retail and technology industries. She is proficient in the launch of integrated brand programs – ranging from brand identity, merchandising, investor relations, advertising & promotions, direct marketing and packaging – to online interactive media, publicity, cause-related marketing, social responsibility strategies, shared value and sponsorship programs.

Deepak Manchanda is an Associate with The Packaging Consortium – a packaging development consultancy. Working closely with Jindal Polymer Films for Application Development of Speciality Films for flexible packaging. He is also an Associate Director with Firstouch Solutions – a design company providing services in Brand Comm, Packaging, Exhibitions and Branded Retail Environments. He has also served as Head of Packaging at Oriflame – Silver Oak; Dabur India and Ranbaxy Laboratories.

Debabrata Deb serves the packaging industry as a Consultant- Packaging Technology and the Director of Future Formats. With more than a decade’s experience, he provides techno-commercial consultancy to the packaging industry in terms of packaging supply chain & package testing and validation through link-up with advanced testing service providers.

Denver Annunciation is Director at Janus International and has over 15 years of experience in the label industry. He is a graduate from S.P Jain Institute of Management and Research. Over these 15 years he has worked in every area of his organisation and has experience in Finance, Technicals, Production and Management. His key achievement was the adoption of digital industrial printing in the label industry 8 years ago.

Dr Sonia D. Henam is a senior researcher at Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi. She is currently working in the Environmental Governance team of CSE and is looking after the municipal solid waste related issues. She has a work experience of 5 years in environmental governance and policy advocacy. Sonia holds a PhD in the Wastewater Treatment from the Gyeongsang National University (GNU) South Korea. She was awarded Korean Government Scholarship Programme in 2008 – 2013 by Ministry of HRD India and NIIED, affiliated with the Ministry of Education, South Korea.

Gerard Caron, co-founder of Carre Noir, the very first French design marketing agency, serves as the chairman of the Pentawards jury, the international prize for packaging design founded by Brigitte and Jean-Jacques Evrard. He has made significant contributions to the development of French design marketing overseas, in Japan as well as in other countries around the world.

Gopal Naik is senior vice president and head legal & compliance, Aditya Birla Retail and Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail (Pantaloons Davison). He has extensive experience of over 35 years in corporate legal functions, real estate, labour laws, strategic advice, statutory compliance and retail business development. He worked for Bharat Petroleum for over 23 years and was a core member of the Change Management team there. Prior to joining Aditya Birla Group, he worked for Reliance Industries as VP (Legal) and played a key role in setting up retail outlets and training executives on compliance related matters. He is a core member of RAI Advocacy Committee and played key role in representing retailer’s cause before various government and other agencies. He is also a visiting faculty (Legal) in leading business schools in Mumbai.

K Ravi is managing director of Hassia Packaging, a wholly owned subsidiary of IMA S.p.A, Italy. He is involved with packaging machines in India since 1989 and is specially experienced in introducing high-tech packaging machines in India. He successfully launched high speed blister machines for the pharmaceutical industry and also high speed cartoners for the Indian market. Today his company, Hassia, which redefines performance benchmarks in the market is associated with the launch of high speed vertical form, fill and seal machinery, volumetric and gravimetric dosers for solids as well as filling and sealing machines for cups for products like yoghurt.

Kajal Anand is chairperson & managing director of Debon Herbals, a manufacturer and exporter of Hair & Skin care herbal/organic/ayurvedic cosmetic products. Her company produces over 40 cosmetic products that require flexible packaging adhering to high standards of material safety. She has experience of 33 years in cosmetics and has founded IWIN Cosmetics & Wellness, an upcoming cluster of Indian Women Industries Network of which she is also the promoter and managing director. She has won many awards of excellence, one of which is “Future Leaders of Tomorrow” given by Economic Times Now, Delhi in recognition of her work for IWIN.

Prabodh Halde, currently the Head Regulatory, Marico Ltd. for domestic and international business, is a renowned Food Technologist with a well-rounded, multi-disciplinary experience of 22+ years in some of the most reputed multinational corporations including Coca-Cola and ACC Ltd. With enormous practical industrial experience in the areas of Quality and Food Safety, he is a lead auditor for ISO 9001/14001/OSHAS 18001/ISO 22000 systems.

Rob Vermeulen studied free art at the Art Academy Breda, before changing to a design degree at the Maastricht Art Academy. He is committed to the PDA Europe (Pan European Brand Design Association). Furthermore, he is member of the two leading Dutch design associations—BNO and Creating Brands.

R.S. Prasad is senior general manager - technical services at Sakata Inx and has been working with the company for last 19 Years. He is responsible for technical support for Sakata's entire domestic and overseas businesses. He has over 25 years of experience in ink manufacturing, print and packaging and has worked with leading flexible packaging companies in India.

Sachin Gangal is a polymer and plastics engineer who has worked for Reliance and Nocil as a technical service engineer before joining Kuraray in 1999 with the intention of promoting EVOH resin in the fast growing Indian flexible packaging market. His objective was to provide effective and enhanced barrier-flexible solutions for diverse areas of food related packaging. Kuraray, a leader in India for EVOH based barrier-flexible packaging applications, is widely used in the country for both food and non-food industrial products.

Saswata Das is an engineer turned marketer turned design entrepreneur, and is currently a partner and executive director at WOW Design. He develops brand & marketing strategies that are linked with effective tactical plans that integrate within the business, are simple, understandable and hence, fully implemented. He has developed the brand strategy for major clients including ITC, Kraft Heinz, 3M, Dabur, Kellogg’s, CavinKare and Emami among others. He has been associated with some of the critical brand revamps in the country like that of Complan, Bingo, Ghadi Detergent and also handled exercises like revamp of Amul Parlours.

Shilpa Mhatre heads the Consumer Technical Insight function at Marico Technology for India and international markets. She has more than 18 years of FMCG experience having worked with organizations like Lakme and Hindustan Unilever prior to joining Marico Ltd. She has expertise in product and packaging design insights and brand strategies and is credited with successful launches across various FMCG categories in personal care like skin, hair, colour cosmetics, male grooming and also foods. She specializes in decoding deep and nuanced understanding of consumer mindsets, behaviours and influencing factors, that are required for successful design of products that deliver delightful product experiences.

Sukhdev Singh Saini is currently the Packaging Design & Development Lead for AMEA region at General Mills International. He is a post graduate in Packaging Technology and has 14 years of packaging experience with previous stints at GlaxoSmithKline and Unilever. His work has won him several International awards and couple of patents.

Venu Gopal Chintada (Venu) is Director – Agricultural and Food at Sathguru Management Consultants, providing advisory support to public and private sector in the areas of strategy, marketing, finance, capacity building, entrepreneurship development, research management, innovation advancement and policy. He is also responsible for management of donor funded international development projects in areas of research, agriculture and education in South & Southeast Asia and East Africa. Veenu is research representative of FAO and involved in research project for food wastage in India. His initial study is based on food losses and potential solutions – Rice, Milk, Mango and Chickpea value chain in Andhra Pradesh.

Vinay Nalawade is director - Packaging Business at Parakh Flexipacks. Prior to that he has worked for British Packaging Group for 12 years - Betts (formerly Courtaulds Packaging) where he worked as group manufacturing head for 12 plants located in different parts of the world. He has almost 25 years of experience in flexible packaging and worked on most of the technologies associated with flexography and blown film extrusion. He is well versed with press standardization to cope with all variables of flexo processes. One of his major strengths is profit maximisation through internal efficiency improvement in addition to greenfield flexible packaging project management and optimizing a plant to implement manufacturing and engineering services.

William Perell, President, PopPack LLC. He focuses his efforts on developing globally applicable, low cost packaging solutions aimed at minimizing food and packaging waste, building brand identity in established and emerging markets, and insuring food security. As an inventor, he has developed a suite of patents that are cost-neutral and provide innovative approaches to packaging.
