Amcor Leads Europe’s Plastic Packaging Industry

According to a new report by the Applied Market Information on the changes that are taking place in the structure of the plastic packaging industry, the industry has recovered from recession and is accelerating towards mergers and acquisitions. The major change that has taken place in recent years is the acquisition of Amcor with the Alcan’s flexible packaging business which leads to more focus on consumer flexible packaging sector in Europe. Apart from this, the other significant changes include Huhtamaki's divestment and RPC's acquisition of Superfos. Rexam, which is another packaging group in Europe, has decided to divest food packaging plants to focus on high demand sectors like health and beauty. ...cont´d
