Water which makes up 80% of our bodies and 75% of our planet is a universal solvent. Needless to say, both the quantity and quality of this resource are in grave danger. The Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) under the Ministry of Water Resources controls the extraction and collection of ground water for all domestic and commercial purposes in India. According to ground water authority surveys, certain areas including the capital and surrounding cities are already prohibited areas for water extraction and are therefore blacklisted for any commercial activity related to the extraction of water and its industrial use.
