Decline in visitor and exhibitor numbers

Eco-design and smart packaging at Emballage 2010

Another international packaging trade fair, after a niche event such as Luxe Pack and the large plastics fair K, and only six months before the main packaging show, Interpack. Emballage takes place every two years in Paris, and over the past decade has been attracting some 100,000 visitors to an ever shrinking number of exhibitors – 1,250 this year (of whom 250 newcomers) from 1,500 in 2008 and 2,300 in the previous years – in an exhibition space of 190,000 square meters, larger than Interpack’s. For the first time this year, Emballage was held together with the logistics fair Manutention, which had 200 exhibitors of its own, mainly French companies.
