Exhibitors keep waiting as footfall disappoints

SouthPack 2012, organised in Chennai by Intel Trade Fairs & Exposition, touted as an international exhibition, started with a whimper and did not really end with a bang. The footfall was not as expected, even for some of the more optimistic exhibitors. On the second day, a Saturday, this writer didn’t see too many people at the stalls. The searing heat might have played a part. So, is holding such an exhibition in May ideal, when the mercury levels in Chennai, like in most other parts of India, are at the highest?
