IPP XII conference – The future of print

The IPP XII Marketing Strategies Conference was a one-day user event held on 19 December in Mumbai, which brought together leading digital, conventional and document printers along with customers and marketing professionals to discuss the new possibilities and better customer understanding. The conference was a user presentation and discussion event whereby the sponsors were sitting in the audience. The conference started with an inspiring session by Sujit Sumitran. Recounting some of the gravity defying accomplishments of ordinary Indians he pointed the participants toward their own orbit shifting paths. Marketing strategies was initiated by Ian Ramsden while MS Bali the chief post master of Mahrashtra invited transparency and relationship-building between the print and postal industry. The interaction took up many of the direct mail and database issues and opportunities and facilities that the Indian postal service could provide with its army of 5,65,00 postal workers working out of 1,55,035 post offices. Bali suggested that 31,000 post offices will be computerised and networked by 31 March 2010. ...cont´d
