In defence of plastic in packaging

In the last two decades India has seen a continuous debate on the effects of plastic on environment. All of us use and throw away plastic indiscriminately, and thus littering is the root cause of the problem. Unorganised and unscientific ways of waste disposal and management systems add to this chaos. The problem is not plastic or plastic packaging, but a general lack of awareness and understanding. A simple ban cannot change the situation and is not the ideal solution. People who argue for bans are those who do not think in terms of product life cycles, and also fail to understand that all other known alternatives are only worse. ...cont´d
