Plastene India, a Champalal company based in Ahmedabad, had a large stand at interpack showing its range of flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBC bulk bags), woven bags, tarpaulin, geotextiles, master batches,
BOPP bags and flexible packaging laminates. Marketing director Chetan Parekh explained to us that his company is not in the business of commodity films but on the contrary produces bespoke material combinations with modified structures and film laminates according to customer specifications. It also produces reprocessed granules for flexible packaging. In total, Plastene produces some 55,000 MT of flexible materials per year, and intends to expand to 100,000 MT by 2013.
