Pharmaceuticals section woos more visitors

Intelpack 2010 show in Mumbai

The Intelpack 2010 show, held in Mumbai in March, concluded on a mixed note. The show profile was a combination of labels, pharmaceuticals and food packaging, with about 210 exhibitors, including 63 representing the label segment. In terms of visitor response, there seemed to be better crowds at the pharmaceuticals section while the labels section received average visitor response – a fact lamented by quite a few. This could be attributed to the recent glut of events, (even more this year) resulting in visitor fatigue. However, PSA spoke to a few exhibitors who said that there were quality visitors. As is always the case, not all exhibitors were happy. “We were expecting good crowds to our stall from the label press segment. But that was not the case. We did receive enquiries, but only from Mumbai region. In my opinion, there was an absence of the outstation crowd,” said Swisstec Daetwyler’s Mangesh Bhise. “We have had visitors from Ludhiana and a few other places, although, this was a show for the Mumbai market. I think there were quality visitors this time,” added Jignesh of Screen Print India magazine. Anyway, in all this, we tried to get some information from the organizers to have their perspective of visitor response but to little or no avail. In our estimate, and based on our visits, there would have been approx 4,000 visitors. As is the trend, there was a low turn out on the first day.
