It has been several years since we tracked installations oflabel presses in India and while this is unfortunately not an exact scienceyet, we expect in the coming year to completely rewrite our seminal article ofDecember 2003 ‘Labels Shining and Industry Thinking,’ that is available on theIppStar website. By 30 June 2011, we will completely validate the entirefootprint of dedicated label production capacity in both square metres andIndian rupees together with our detailed trend forecasts. The year-longresearch project, which began 1 July 2010, will include extensive primaryinterviews of input suppliers (machinery and consumables), processors (thelabel printers and converters) and the end users (pharma, FMCG, oil and otherlabel consuming segments).
