If there’s one thing all major shows in our industry have in common, it’s the rise of digital printing. If there’s another common thread it might be the increased presence of Asian exhibitors and visitors.

Every other year, some 23,000 people flock to Brussels Expo’s art deco palace housing the entrance to Labelexpo Europe, right in front of Belgium’s other famous landmark, the Atomium. This is where from 26 to 29 September more than 500 exhibitors showcased prepress, printing and converting equipment and materials for the label industry. Label converters are increasingly embarking on the production of flexible packaging and folding cartons as additional business areas, and although Labelexpo covers anything from software and substrates to finishing solutions to support this trend, it is at the show’s printing and converting equipment that developments can perhaps be observed most clearly. ...cont´d
