On 9 February 2011, Marico which manufactures beauty and wellness products chose polypropylene (PP) clarified with Millad NX8000 agent from Milliken & Company, to create ultra-clear bottles for its new Naturals almond-scented hair oil. The company expressed that it wanted an exceptionally clear plastic that would showcase the beautiful transparency and purity of the oil but at the same time added that it wished to avoid a large investment in equipment and tools required to mold polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles.

The company sought an advanced clarifying agent to deliver a superior level of transparency. Collaboration among Marico, Milliken and resin manufacturer Lyondell Basell led to development of the NX8000-clarified PP grade packaging and production of attractive bottles with minimal capital investment.
"Clarity is a top feature of our new fragrant hair oil product line that we wanted to emphasize,” said Indranil Saha Marico’s Packaging Development manager. “Unlike our translucent Parachute coconut oil, which is packaged in opaque bottles, Nihar almond oil called for an exceptionally clear packaging material that would showcase its transparency. Milliken and Basell combined their expertise to provide us with the perfect material.
