The packaging industry plays a major role all around the globe. In 2009, more than four billion packages were sold. With a share of 46 per cent, Asia is now the most important regional market, ahead of Europe at 27 per cent and North America at 15 per cent. And packaging sales volumes are been driven still higher in Asia by the booming economies of China and India.
