Green steps in offset production

It is clear that the organised printers and converters will lead the way to green printing and packaging in India as perhaps everywhere. The first Technotrans India Green Print Award was won by the Times of India plant in Ahmedabad, a part of of the Bennett-Coleman organisation that keeps making the news for its innovations in printing newspapers. The Green Print award is an example of the extremely organised approach that the Bennett-Coleman newspaper group takes in order to strengthen its advertising revenues and maintain profitability at a time when newsprint and other costs put dailies everywhere under pressure. And as I learned again this morning in a discussion at drupa, it’s the organised printers in every segment that do the things that decrease downtime and waste – the ones that are able to deliver quality product on time competitively.
