We visited Shilp Gravures in 2004 and wrote a cover story in Indian Printer and Publisher about the company at the time. In January, 2010 we again visited Shilp at their Rakanpur plant in Ahmedabad to understand the developments in the gravure industry. Today Shilp is the only gravure cylinder manufacturer preparing its own base shells and providing four engraving technologies under one roof — from conventional chemical etching, mechanical engraving, electro-mechanical engraving, and the latest laser engraving technologies.
