With the Indian economy growing at rates in excess of 9 per cent perannum, the demand for paper in India has been growing by 5 to 6 percent per annum as compared to 2.8 per cent worldwide. However, the percapita consumption is less than 7 kgs. per year as compared to theglobal figure of 55 kgs.
