Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd (TNPL), established by the state government, has earmarked some expansion plans. The company, however, refused to comment on the quantum of investment that would be required to fund those plans. As part of its modernisation, TNPL is setting up a 600 tonnes per day mini cement plant for producing high grade cement from out of lime sludge generated in the process of manufacture of paper.
