The label industry met once again, second time this month due to an initiative of the new team leading the Label Manufacturers of India, at the hotel Orchid in Mumbai on 27 June 2009. LMAI organized an awareness meet for the label printing industry on National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme of the Government of India. K R Sharma Director Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (DI, Mumbai), explained the details of the program and various grants that the government is offering to printers. SVG Nandgopal, Chief General Manager SIDBI (W) Zone, spoke on the credit guarantee funds and trusts for MSMEs. Vijay Kumar, Director In charge, MSME (DI, Indore), summed up by speaking on the credit linked subsidies available. The meet was very well attended and the mood of the printers was upbeat as they felt that the program was very informative and they stood to benefit by the initiative of the association.
