Inmat announces its new Nanolok PT ADV-7 water based coating formulation. Inmat has reduced the barrier material needed and uses non-hazardous materials, which it claims will enable food companies to produce long shelf life products with reduced carbon footprint and environmental impact. Nanolok ADV-7 coating at 0.5-0.8 microns provides better oxygen and moisture barrier than 10-20 microns of EVOH or PVDC. The coating does not contain any halogens and other hazardous materials making it compliant with food contact regulations in the US and Europe. Coating thickness in the range of 0.5-0.8 microns can be coated at speeds of 900 feet a minute (275 metres a minute) using standard roll coating equipment.
