At a recent press meet in Lier, Belgium,Wim Maes, CEO, Xeikon said that although overall sales in presses and consumables are stable, “There is a bigger shift towards label and industrial printing.” He added that Xeikon’s strategy for the future contains dedicated developments for the label and packaging markets. Maes explained, “Label printers have had to change their ways of working; it’s a buyer’s market and customers are much more demanding. We would be the last one to say we will replace flexo, but digital can deliver faster, it is attracting customers and more money is being made on digital printing than on flexo.” ...cont´d
