Harish Gupta of Sai Com Codes shifted his label manufacturing facility from Delhi to Sonepat, Haryana to add more space to his label operations. However, Gupta says the industry has been going through a slowdown and not growing at the pace it should have been or perhaps at the rate that he expected. According to Gupta, the government policies are not helping either. “Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are abundant in this country and this is the most unprivileged segment as far as aid and survival are concerned. Giants of the industry do not need the government to support them. They have all facilities at their disposal and they can acquire all the support they want. It’s SMEs which need to be nourished and nurtured with fervour and which cannot fight to survive on their own without help. Those who require better infrastructure, easier loans are these small and medium enterprises, not the multinationals or the multicrore companies.” ...cont´d
